PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Spring 2023

China Art & Design seminar was a collaboration between the University of St. Francis and Sichuan University of Science and Engineering. For the class final each student created an artwork based on the partner institution’s region.

I decided to create natural dyed shirts based in research of the Bai people. The Bai people use natural die mainly woad which when processed creates a rich blue color. After doing much research I decided to create three shirts with natural berry dye. Instead of just photographing the shirts I decided to get people to model them.
